Today’s session

This weekend, our community garden was buzzing with excitement as a group of young, eager gardeners joined us for a hands-on planting adventure. Armed with tiny trowels, colorful watering cans, and plenty of enthusiasm, the children got straight to work, digging in the soft soil and carefully planting their very own vegetables and flowers. Laughter filled the air as they learned the names of different plants, from juicy cherry tomatoes to bright sunflowers that would soon stretch toward the sky. With a little dirt on their hands and big smiles on their faces, the kids truly embraced the joy of gardening.
After planting, we played a fun “Garden Detectives” game, where the children searched for hidden bugs and friendly worms that help the soil stay healthy. They were fascinated to learn how ladybugs protect plants from pesky aphids and how earthworms keep the soil rich and ready for growing. To make things even more exciting, each child got to decorate their own plant marker with colorful paints and stickers, adding a personal touch to their mini garden plots. The creativity and energy were contagious, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
As the session came to a close, we wrapped up with a storytelling circle, where the kids imagined what their plants might look like in a few weeks and what kinds of creatures might visit them. Each child took home a small potted plant to care for, along with a “Gardener’s Promise” card, reminding them to water and nurture their plants daily. Seeing their excitement and sense of accomplishment was truly heartwarming. We can’t wait to see how their little gardens grow and look forward to another fun session soon! 🌱✨
