Welcome to the home of McSweetcorn!

Hi all! Welcome to the world of Sweetcorn… it’s all about art, craft and woodland play for kids… and now it is also about art and craft for grown ups!

The kids stuff, in summary:

  • Timmy Sweetcorn Kids’ Club are art/craft and woodland play sessions in South Sheffield
  • Timmy Sweetcorn parties can be requested which would follow a similar structure to the kids’ club sessions
  • I work freelance offering CPD sessions for teachers in primary schools of how to use ‘scrap’ in your classroom; repurposing waste in both arts and crafts and also utilised across the curriculum, making subject areas more practical, tactile and personalised.
  • Your school can request me for bespoke art and craft sessions, script writing workshops, incorporating art into an area of the curriculum (e.g. rainforest dioramas and safari camera making in Geography) or prop making and expressive arts topics. Do you like the idea of your students devising a production or seeing a performance of a book you are studying with workshops where they create art? Get in touch. [email protected]

The adult stuff, in summary:

  • Adult Collage Club… “Sweetcorn Fiesta” is in its infancy! A hobby of mine I am keen to create into a social and creative hub. This is starting at Over The Yardarm in Netheredge/Abbeydale but I would love to see it spread across different venues. This collage club (it may well evolve in what we make) is a great way of people from different walks of life coming together and your confidence and experience of art doesn’t matter. No-one need be intimidated. I am an amateur collage maker myself but with my background in teaching I have a back catalogue of resources to share with you and will be able to guide and facilitate a session that hopefully has good pace, structure and format to keep us all engaged.
  • Future plans for adult workshops… film script writing workshops. This was my baby when teaching A Level Film Studies and it is loads of fun that I would like to share with some creative adults in the area.
